The 'Good Will Hunting' pair to make Whitey Bulger movie together

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite for crime drama

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are to reunite for a new crime movie based the life of Whitey Bulger.

The pair found fame together writing and acting in 1997 drama Good Will Hunting, for which their screenplay won an Oscar. Now, the friends are getting together again for the film based on famed crime boss Bulger.

Damon will star as Bulger and Affleck will direct, according to Deadline. Casey Affleck will also join the cast, with the script written by Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter.

Affleck said: "Matt and I have been looking for something to do together for some time. We’ve heard about Whitey Bulger since we were kids, and we are exciting by the prospect of putting it on screen."

James 'Whitey' Bulger was chased by the FBI for 16 years before finally being arrested in June of this year at the age of 81. Jack Nicholson's role in The Departed was apparently based on his life.

Meanwhile, you can watch a clip from Damon's latest film Contagion at the bottom of the page.
