Matt Damon joins Christopher Nolan's new sci-fi film 'Interstellar'
Impressive cast already includes Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine
Matt Damon has joined the cast of Interstellar, the forthcoming sci-fi film from director Christopher Nolan.
Nolan started shooting earlier this month (August) in Alberta, Canada and Damon has signed up for a "small undisclosed" role, The Playlist reports. The film's impressive cast already includes Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Topher Grace and David Oyelowo.
Interstellar is Christopher Nolan's first project as director since last year's The Dark Knight Rises, the concluding part of his Batman trilogy. He collaborated on the script with his brother Jonathan, who also contributed to two of the Batman screenplays and The Prestige.
Exact plot details are being kept under wraps but the story is said to follow a group of intrepid explorers who go through a "wormhole" into another dimension. The film has been given a release date of November 7, 2014.
Meanwhile, Damon is currently appearing on the big screen in another sci-fi film, Elysium co-starring Jodie Foster, which opened in UK cinemas last Wednesday (August 21). Click 'play' below to watch the trailer.
