Mia Wasikowska to replace Emma Stone in 'Crimson Peak'?
Guillermo del Toro's haunted house thriller stars Jessica Chastain and Benedict Cumberbatch
Emma Stone has reportedly exited the cast of Crimson Peak.
The Amazing Spider-Man actress has dropped out of director Guillermo del Toro's haunted house thriller, with Mia Wasikowska reportedly lined up to replace her, should the Stoker star's schedule work out, according to The Wrap.
If she accepts the role, Wasikowska will play Edith Cushin, a young author who discovers that her dotting husband is not who he appears to be. Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch is already cast, alongside Zero Dark Thirty's Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam (Sons Of Anarchy).
Plot details are being kept under wraps but del Toro plans to start shooting the movie next February (2014). The director is currently working on a new draft of the script with screenwriter Lucinda Coxon, whose previous credits include The Crimson Petal And The White.
Meanwhile, Guillermo del Toro is preparing for the release of his eagerly-anticipated monster movie Pacific Rim. The film is the first to be directed by del Toro since 2008's Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. The Mexican filmmaker's previous directorial efforts include Pan's Labyrinth and Blade II. It's set to stomp into UK cinemas on July 12. You can watch the trailer below.
