Michael C. Hall will star in Stanley Kubrick's un-produced drama God Fearing Man. The Dexter actor will also executive produce the project which is being adapted for a TV miniseries by independent studio Entertainment One.
Kubrick's drama tells the true story of Canadian minister turned safecracker Herbert Emerson Wilson, who stole nearly $16m robbing banks in the early 20th Century.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter eOne Television vice president Michael Rosenberg said: "Kubrick's God Fearing Man presents a larger-than-life story with a complicated protagonist who undergoes a radical transformation.
We knew we had to secure a leading man with the immense talent and charisma needed to carry the project, and we were dedicated to putting in the diligent time and effort to find the perfect fit.
We cannot be more pleased to have Michael on board, who has time and again demonstrated an uncanny ability to portray captivating characters who must grapple with fundamental internal struggles.”
Hall was nominated for five Emmy awards for his role as vigilante serial killer Dexter and was also nominated for Six Feet Under.
Since last year's Dexter finale Hall's film projects have included Kill Your Darlings alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Cold in July with Sam Shepard.
