Milla Jovovich says a fifth 'Resident Evil' movie is on the way
Actress suggestions producers will use Twitter to see what fans 'really want' for part five
Milla Jovovich has announced there will be a fifth Resident Evil film - as news emerges that the fourth instalment Afterlife has topped the US box office this weekend (September 12). Though Resident Evil: Afterlife has only just opened in America, the franchise's star told Nymag.com's Vulture that producers Screen Gems are already planning for a new film.
“This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at Number One worldwide. It's the biggest movie in the franchise,” Jovovich declared, “so we're definitely going to make another one.”
The actress also raised the suggestion that the fifth film could be a truly interactive film.
“We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see," she explained. "It's going to be a more interactive process.”
