'Misfits' movie is 'quite likely' to happen, says star Iwan Rheon
The final series of the superhero comedy is set to air on E4 later this year
A Misfits spin-off movie is "quite likely" to happen, says the show's former star Iwan Rheon.
Created by Howard Overman, Misfits centres on a crew of unlikely superheroes and debuted on E4 in 2009. The fifth and final series is set to air later this year (2013).
However, Overman revealed last November (2012) that he is already plotting a big screen spin-off. "I've written the first draft of the script and we'll see what happens," he said at the time.
Now Rheon, who quit Misfits at the end of series three, has admitted he would be an "idiot" not to return for the mooted movie. The actor told Digital Spy: "I think it'd be a really fun thing to go back and revisit, because obviously I feel so much love for Misfits and gratitude."
Discussing the chances of the movie actually getting made, Rheon admitted that reuniting the cast would present a "logistical challenge", but added: "I think it might happen. I think it's quite likely that it will happen, yeah, if they can get everyone together to do it."
