Monty Python stars reunite for new movie

The surviving members of comedy troupe will star in sci-fi animation 'Absolutely Anything'

The surviving Monty Python members are set to reunite for new movie.

Terry Jones will direct a new animated sci-fi film called Absolutely Anything, that will feature voice work from John Cleese, Michael Palin, with Terry Gilliam also involved. He is also hopeful that Eric Idle will join the project.

Robin Williams has also signed on to voice an intelligent talking dog named Dennis, according to Variety. Jones said: "It"s not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility."

Absolutely Anything will see the Python crew voice a group of aliens who grant a human being with immense power, leading to chaos. Life Of Brian producer Mike Medavoy will head up the CGI project, based on a 20-year-old script from Jones and Gavin Scott.

Medavoy said: "Terry and Gavin have crafted a classic farce - something I feel I know a little more about after all the Pink Panther pictures we did with Blake Edwards at United Artists. In fact, the movie even has a pompous French man reminiscent of Inspector Clouseau - but there the similarity ends. Like all projects originated by any of the Monty Python guys, Absolutely Anything delightfully defies a logline."

The surviving members last appeared together at the Aspen Comedy Festival in 1998.
