Naomie Harris opens up about her character in 'Skyfall'
Actress says her character is a 'James Bond wannabe'
Naomie Harris has opened up about her character in the new James Bond film Skyfall.
Harris, who will portray a field agent named 'Eve' in the 23rd James Bond film, has described her character as "wannabe James Bond", who sees herself as the equal of 007.
Speaking to Total Film, Harris said of her character: "My character would like to see herself as a female Bond but I don’t think anyone’s really a match for Bond."
Harris also spoke about the rigorous training regime she'd undertaken for the part and also said she was really enjoyed working with firearms. She said of this: "I kickbox and do a lot with guns. I started off terrified by the sound of a gun, let alone having any idea of how to hold one but now I really enjoy it."
Skyfall is being directed by Sam Mendes, and co-stars stars Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Bérénice Marlohe, Helen McCrory and Javier Bardem. It will open in cinemas on October 26.
