New Red Dwarf X trailer released – watch
Video includes footage from forthcoming episodes to be shown on Dave later this year
A new trailer for Red Dwarf X, a brand new series of the popular sci-fi comedy, has been released.
In the 55-second video, we see the space travelling group get up to their old tricks as Kryten (Robert Llewellyn) gives Lister (Craig Charles) a rather bad motivational talk and Lister loses Rimmer (Chris Barrie) in a poker game. You can watch the trailer below.
All original actors are back for the new 6-episode series on Dave later this year. The channel was also behind last year's three-part special titled Back To Earth. Previously, Red Dwarf had been shown on BBC.
Last year, Danny John-Jules, who plays The Cat in the comedy, blasted the BBC for its treatment of the show.
"The BBC never really pushed Red Dwarf as one of their flagship shows, even though it was so successful," he told Digital Spy, "I think it all stems back to the commissioning days, when the BBC turned down the show twice."
John-Jules suggested that Red Dwarf is still under-appreciated, claiming that the show's cast would often be "ignored" by the BBC.
"There's no question that if I was in a show in Hollywood that had been running for 23 years, I'd be able to hang out with Barack Obama." he argued. "We've not even had a cup of tea at the BBC. But it's not like it worries us - it's great to be a bit controversial."
