New Superman movie 'Man Of Steel' involves 'a lot of trouble' for Lois Lane

Amy Adams discusses her depiction of Lois Lane in Superman reboot 'Man Of Steel'

New Superman movie 'Man Of Steel' involves 'a lot of trouble' for Lois Lane

Amy Adams has revealed that Lois Lane "gets herself in a lot of trouble" in new Superman movie Man Of Steel.

Adams plays Lane opposite Henry Cavill's Clark Kent in the Superman reboot, which is scheduled for release next June (2013). When asked whether her character was "competitive" with Cavill's, Adams told Collider: "No, I think she is a little more… we will have to see. I don't know. I mean, she is definitely a pistol still and she definitely gets herself in a lot of trouble still. But she is not as competitive, I would say, with Clark."

She also insisted that Superman fans will not be disappointed with Cavill's portrayal of the iconic character, saying: "Henry – I hope you guys love him as Superman – worked so hard. He is just yummy and really committed to the role. He really did a good job. I haven't seen the final cut and I have only seen a couple of the teasers. So I am with you guys. I know it because I was there but there was so much that I wasn't involved in that I can't wait to see."

Speaking earlier this month (September), Cavill explained that Man Of Steel takes a slightly different approach to previous Superman films. He told Cineplex: "It's a modernisation of the character and a very realistic view of one, obviously, very fantastic individual. It's an unreal situation, but it's approached from a very practical viewpoint. We wanted to make the character easier to identify with."

Alongside Cavill and Adams, Man Of Steel boasts a bumper cast including Michael Shannon as the villainous General Zod, Laurence Fishburne as the Editor of The Daily Planet, and Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman's biological father. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will play his adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.

The reboot is being helmed by Watchmen director Zack Snyder, with Batman's Christopher Nolan on board as producer. The first Man Of Steel trailer was released in July (2012) - scroll down to watch it.
