New trailer for Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' appears - watch

A second trailer for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby has appeared online. Scroll all the way down and click 'play' to watch it.

Shot in 3D, Luhrmann's lavish adaptation of the classic F Scott Fitzgerald novel stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role alongside Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan and Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway. All feature prominently in the new trailer, which also showcases the visual flair that Luhrmann displayed on his previous movies Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet.

The director shot The Great Gatsby in his native Australia, though the action is set in New York and Long Island's North Shore during the summer of 1922. The first trailer arrived back in May (2012) and you can see it here.

Originally, The Great Gatsby was supposed to open on Christmas Day this year (2012). However, Warner Bros later made a decision to push back the release date "to ensure this unique film reaches the largest audience possible". It is now due to arrive in UK cinemas on May 17, 2013.

Meanwhile, Prince and Lady Gaga are rumoured to be writing songs for the soundtrack. Speaking back in October, cast member Catherine Wilson let slip: "Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film, and I don’t think Warner Bros are going to turn down Prince and Lady Gaga knocking down your door… I don’t know if I'm allowed to say that.”
