Nicki Minaj is set to make her big screen acting debut in a new Cameron Diaz movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minaj is “in final negotiations” for a supporting role in a comedy flick called The Other Woman. Diaz will star as a lawyer who discovers she is “the other woman” in an affair and teams up with her cheating boyfriend’s wife, played by Leslie Mann, to exact revenge.
If negotiations are successful, Minaj will appear as Diaz’s opinionated assistant, joining a cast that also includes Kate Upton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Filming is set to begin late spring/early summer in New York City. Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook, My Sisters’s Keeper) will direct from a script by rookie screenwriter Melissa Stack.
The Other Woman would mark Minaj’s first appearance in a live-action movie. The rapper previously took on a voice role in computer-animated smash Ice Age: Continental Drift, which came out last summer (2012). She is also currently appearing as a judge on American Idol.
