Orlando Bloom said goodbye to his role as Legolas as he wrapped filming his scenes in The Hobbit: There And Back Again, the third film in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy.

The actor marked the occasion by singing along to the 2007 viral hit video 'They Are Taking The Hobbits To Isengard'. You can watch Bloom perform the song by scrolling down the page and clicking 'play'.

The video was posted yesterday (June 29) by director Peter Jackson and has now gone viral too, with over 2.2 million views so far. Linking to the video on his official Facebook page, Jackson wrote: "A day after saying goodbye to Gandalf and Tauriel, it was time to farewell Legolas. What a great day it was, with Orlando battling a serious Orc for all 12 hours of shooting - part of the Battle of the 5 Armies for the third Hobbit movie.

He added: "When we finally got the day done, we said goodbye to Orlando, had a couple of beers ... and couldn't resist doing this [the video]!"

On Friday (June 28), Peter Jackson said goodbye to another member of his original Lord Of The Rings cast as Ian McKellen wrapped up filming his scenes as Gandalf for the Hobbit trilogy.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released in December last year and took over $1 billion (£670 million) at the box office worldwide. The Desolation Of Smaug will follow on December 13 later this year, before the trilogy concludes with There And Back Again in December 2014.

Jackson originally planned to adapt JRR Tolkien's classic novel over two movies, before announcing last July (2012) that the story would be extended to a trilogy. The films star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and boast a bumper ensemble cast including Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis and Cate Blanchett.
