The first look of Peter Capaldi's Time Lord in Doctor Who has been revealed.
The BBC have released the first full photograph of Scottish actor Capaldi in character as the Doctor and sporting a new-look wardrobe. Speaking about the costume, which you can see at the top of the page, Capaldi complimented designer Howard Burden for creating the look.
"He's woven the future from the cloth of the past," he said. "Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord." Showrunner Steven Moffat added: "New Doctor, new era, and of course new clothes. Monsters of the universe, the vacation is over - Capaldi is suited and booted and coming to get you!"
Capaldi, who is best-known for playing the ferocious and foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker in political comedy The Thick Of It, is set to star in his first series of Doctor Who this year. He will take over from previous incumbent Matt Smith, who bowed out in last year's Christmas episode.
