A few plot details for Wes Anderson's new film The Grand Budapest Hotel have finally been revealed.

Anderson's follow-up to Moonrise Kingdom boasts another impressive ensemble cast including Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel and Saoirse Ronan. Anderson favourites Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartzman all have roles too.

Anderson recently finished filming The Grand Budapest Hotel in Germany, but the director has been typically secretive about the project, which until now has been billed simply as "a European story". However, The Grand Budapest Hotel has now been picked up by Fox Searchlight, which is aiming to release it in late 2013 or early 2014, and the basic storyline has been revealed.

The film apparently takes place at a famous European hotel between the wars and focuses on a growing friendship between a legendary concierge and a new young employee, Screen Daily reports. The story involves the theft of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune, while also tracking the dramatic cultural and political shifts that shaped Europe during the early 20th century.

Anderson's most recent film, Moonrise Kingdom, also starred Swinton, Murray, Keitel, Norton and Schwartzman and came out last May (2012). The writer-director's previous movies include Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and Fantastic Mr Fox.
