Comic actress Rebel Wilson has dismissed recent reports that she is keen to portray Adele in an upcoming biopic movie.

The Daily Star originally reported that Wilson was interested in the role to "prove she can cut it as a serious actress". However, Adele later said that the press only linked the pair because they are both "plus-sized".

Wilson has now taken to Twitter to deny the initial reports, writing: "I have never been offered to play Adele in a biopic... completely made up tabloid story with fictitious unnamed source". She went on to add: "Love Adele though".

Adele herself dismissed the reports while onstage at London's O2 Arena on Monday night (April 5). "You don’t get to make a film without my fucking permission. Shut up. There’s no film," Adele told the crowd, adding: "Just because I’m plus-sized doesn’t mean she’s playing me".

At the same gig, Adele gave a shout-out to grime artist Stormzy. The London MC is a self-confessed Adele superfan and went to see her live on Monday.

After tweeting about his plans to see the show, Adele showed her appreciation for his support by telling her fans about him, dedicating 'Make You Feel My Love' to him and sending him a hand-written note inside the official tour programme.
