Aussie singer hopes use of song will help launch US career

Ricki-Lee Coulter 'excited' about 'Sex And The City' trailer

Australian singer Ricki-Lee Coulter has said her track being played on the trailer for Sex and the City 2 is a "huge opportunity" to crack America.

Her single 'Can't Touch It' was used for the second half of the latest trailer, alongside Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' 'New York State Of Mind'. Coulter came to fame via the second series of Australian Idol in 2004.

She told the Australian Daily Telegraph: "This is just such a huge opportunity. I am so excited. The song is about me and my best friend going out for a night out in New York, not needing the guys, and just having a great night.

"It is so perfect for the movie. As a massive fan of the show, to have my song part of all that is an amazing feeling."

She added: "The hardest part of this whole thing is that I have not been able to say anything to anyone. When I found out, it was surreal, it was this dream come true, I wanted to tell everyone about it, but I had to keep quiet.

"In the past six months we have had a lot of activity, certainly more than usual, from the US. We have had DJs, producers, publishers and other artists really interested in my music and one of those was Warner Brothers."

Sex and the City 2 will be released May 28 in the UK.
