Scott Eastwood signs on to appear in ‘Fast & Furious 8’

'Suicide Squad' actor will play Kurt Russell's protégé in next film

Scott Eastwood has signed on to appear in the next Fast & Furious film.

Following in the footsteps of Charlize Theron, who confirmed her part as the villain in Fast & Furious 8 last week, Eastwood has also confirmed his role in the car-based franchise.

Universal announced the casting in a tweet, declaring that “Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody has a new protégé Welcome @ScottEastwood to the Fast family.”

Kurt Russell’s corrupt government agent made his debut in Furious Seven as White Nick Fury, with the news of Eastwood’s character seemingly confirming that Russell will also appear in the next film too.

Scott Eastwood, the son of Clint Eastwood, will appear in a series of big films in the next twelve months including Suicide Squad, Snowden, and Ben Affleck’s Live by Night.

Earlier this year (February) Vin Diesel confirmed release dates for the next three Fast & Furious movies. Fast & Furious 8 will race into cinemas on April 14, 2017, followed by Fast & Furious 9 on April 14, 2017 and Fast & Furious 10 on April 2, 2021.

Diesel previously revealed that the Fast & Furious franchise will end with “one last trilogy”, meaning that according to current plans. 2010’s Fast & Furious 10 will be its final instalment.
