'Sex And The City' tops UK box office
Carrie and the girls beat Streetdance 3D to top spot
Sex And The City 2 has topped the UK box office, taking more than £6 million over the bank holiday weekend (May 29-31). The film did not do as well as the first movie and came third in the US box office charts - but it forced Streetdance 3D from the top spot in British cinemas, according to UK Film Council figures.
Sex And The City 2 is so far second to Iron Man 2 in the race to become the biggest weekend film opening in the UK and Ireland in 2010, taking £6.14m, compared to the comic book inspired movie's £7.66 million when it was released in April.
