Simon Cowell has revealed he is making his own animated movie.

Cowell is best known for his TV shows and sometimes dubious pop success stories, but he's recently branched out into filmmaking with the One Direction 3D concert movie, due August 29, and an upcoming Paul Potts biopic starring James Corden. He's also making a film about Pudsey, the dancing dog from Britain's Got Talent.

Now the entertainment mogul has another big screen project in the works. He told the Daily Star: "I have an animation movie I have just sold. It's my concept. It's an idea I had 10 years ago and the first studio I’ve gone to wants it. Making an animation is something I’ve always, always, wanted to do because I love cartoons."

Cowell refused to give away the film's premise or discuss casting, though. "We only did the deal a few weeks ago so I’m not allowed to say any more," he explained.

However, the Daily Star claims to have been told by "a source" - not necessarily Sinitta - that Cowell is planning to appear in the film himself. The source apparently revealed: "He wants to feature in some way. He also wants the biggest Hollywood A-listers to do the voiceovers. Don’t be surprised if one or two familiar faces from his reality shows appear, too."

Cowell is currently appearing on the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent on ITV1. He has also reportedly negotiated a £2million deal to bring back Sharon Osbourne to The X Factor.
