Sky Atlantic to simulcast 'Game Of Thrones' with HBO from next Monday

The first episode of Season Five has drawn Sky Atlantic's highest ever overnight rating

Press
Sky Atlantic is to simulcast Game Of Thrones with HBO from next Monday (April 20).

Each new episode of the fantasy saga will debut in the UK at 2am GMT on Monday morning - the same time it airs on HBO in the US. It will then be shown again in its usual Sky Atlantic slot of 9pm on Monday evening. Sky Atlantic shared the news of the simulcast on Twitter earlier today (April 14).
Season Five of Game Of Thrones began on Sky Atlantic last night (April 13) and episode one scored the channel's highest ever overnight rating at 1.6 million. This figure is especially impressive in the light of this weekend's Game Of Thrones leak, which saw the first four episodes of Season Five appear on file-sharing websites.

For the first time, the new season of Game Of Thrones does not feature an episode written by author George RR Martin, who is concentrating on completing the sixth novel in his series, The Winds Of Winter. HBO has already commissioned a sixth season of the show to air in 2016.
