The season premiere of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Miley Cyrus, featured a sketch poking fun at Taylor Swift and her so-called "squad" of celebrity friends.

The comedy skit took the form of a fake horror movie trailer, imagining a post-apocalyptic future ruled by Swift and her legion of followers.

The sketch featured Vanessa Bayer and Aidy Bryant, as well as a cameo from Kenan & Kel's Kenan Thompson.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus performed live with The Flaming Lips, was introduced by Hillary Clinton and dissed many well-known names elsewhere during the show.

The controversial singer opened the show by bidding farewell to a number of individuals in the news over the summer that we will no longer be talking about in months to come: including Drake, Meek Mill, Ariana Grande, Lenny Kravitz, Rachel Dolezal, Kim Davis and the dentist who killed Cecil the lion.

Cyrus performed her songs 'Karen Don't Be Sad' and 'The Twinkle Song (I Had A Dream)'. The former was performed with The Flaming Lips and introduced by Hillary Clinton.
