'The Social Network' scribe is in the frame to write the screenplay

Steve Jobs biopic to be written by Aaron Sorkin?

Aaron Sorkin is planning to write the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic, it has emerged.

The writer of The Social Network has met with Sony to discuss the movie that will chart the late Apple founder's life. The movie will involve an adaptation of the official biography of Jobs from Walter Isaacson.

The film will be produced by Management 360 along with Saving Private Ryan producer Mark Gordon, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Sorkin is considered to be the obvious choice to write the screenplay, but his position could yet be complicated by the fact that he knew Jobs in life. Jobs passed away earlier in October following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Isaacson's book, Steve Jobs, was brought forward following the computer wizard’s death. Based on over 40 interviews, the book is available now. The writer said in tribute to Jobs: "His genius was the ability to connect poetry to technology. That art and technology thing. I mean, Bill Gates has astonishing mental processing power. But he didn't have that sort of feel for design and art."
