Taylor Swift set to play Joni Mitchell in new movie

Taylor Swift is being lined up to play Joni Mitchell in a new movie.
According to Variety, the country singer is already on board for Girls Like Us, a film adaptation of Sheila Weller's book examining the impact of Mitchell and her 1970s peers Carole King and Carly Simon.
The screen rights were acquired some time ago by Katie Jacobs, a former executive producer on House, who intends to direct the film. A script has been written by John Sayles, whose previous credits include Honeydripper and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
Sony Pictures has yet to green-light Girls Like Us, but the project seems to be moving forward. Several actresses are now testing for co-starring roles alongside Swift. Those in the running to play Carole King include Alison Pill from The Newsroom and Dredd 3D's Olivia Thirlby.
Meanwhile, candidates to play Carly Simon include Allison Williams from HBO sitcom Girls and Jessica Paré, who is best known as Don Draper's wife Megan in Mad Men. On the show, Paré famously showed off her vocal talents with a seductive performance of a French song called 'Zoo Be Zoo Be Zoo' - you can watch it below.
