'Ted 2' given June 2015 release date
Mark Wahlberg expected to return in 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane's comedy sequel
Ted 2 has been given an official release date in June 2015.
Last month, the film's writer and director, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, revealed that he expected the film to be released during the Jewish festival of Passover (In 2015, it will be in April), but this has now been pushed back to June 26.
Ted, which starred Mark Wahlberg opposite a foul-mouthed, hard-drinking teddy bear, was one of 2012's surprise box office successes. The R-rated comedy film grossed over $500 million (£310 million) worldwide.
Speaking back in January (2013), MacFarlane said that "everybody involved" was keen to make a sequel but admitted that "it has not been officially signed off on yet".
In the meantime, MacFarlane's second big screen directorial effort, a comedy western called A Million Ways To Die, will open in cinemas on May 30, 2014. MacFarlane also stars in the film, heading up an impressive ensemble cast that includes Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris.
