According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriters Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, who all share the credit for writing the superhero sequel, which is due out on April 18, 2014, will reunite for a third and fourth instalment.

Shailene Woodley had also been due to appear as Mary Jane Watson, but her role has recently been cut from the film and MJ will now make her Amazing Spider-Man debut in the third movie, due in 2016.
