'The Amazing Spider-Man' trailer leaks online – video
Fans can get their first glimpse of Andrew Garfield in the superhero role now
A first trailer for the new Spider-Man film, The Amazing Spider-Man has leaked online. Like the Batman trailer which emerged last week, the footage is of poor quality but events unfolding can be clearly made out.
The new trailer gives fans their first look at actor Andrew Garfield in the lead role. And the new film looks like giving a different twist on the Spidey tale than that told by Sam Raimi.
While the trailer hits similar beats to the 2002 version starring Tobey Maguire, the revamp looks more concerned with Peter Parker's backstory, and specifically what happened to his parents.
Climaxing in a neat Spider-Man point-of-view shot which follows the web-slinger across rooftops and up walls, the trailer appears darker in tone than previous big screen outings.
Alongside Garfield, the new film stars Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors. It is directed by Marc Webb.
As ever, we would recommend you hold out for the big-screen trailer or a decent official online version, but if you just can't wait for your Spidey fix and don't mind amateur shaky-camera footage, then click below.
The Amazing Spider-Man is due for release in the UK on July 3, 2012.
