The Avengers 2 is to be filmed in the UK early next year (2014).
Joss Whedon will shoot his eagerly-anticipated sequel to The Avengers at Shepperton Studios just outside of London, Screen Daily reports.
The Avengers 2 won't be the first Marvel movie to be shot at Shepperton. Thor: The Dark World was primarily filmed at the famous Middlesex studios last year (2012) and Guardians Of The Galaxy is scheduled to shoot there this summer.
Whedon filmed last year's The Avengers entirely in the US. Since its release in May, the superhero ensemble movie uniting Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk has become the third highest-grossing film of all time, taking over $1.5 billion (£930 million) at the box office worldwide.
Marvel has given The Avengers 2 a release date of May 1, 2015. Speaking back in January (2013), Whedon revealed that he was working on the final draft of his script. "Don't go bigger; go deeper," he said of his approach. "All of these people have met, so you have that out of the way. Now you can spend your time just digging in - and by digging in, I mean with a scalpel, to cause pain."
