Video: The Avengers - Teaser Trailer

A new teaser trailer for the long-awaited The Avengers movie has been unveiled.

The 30-second clip of footage from Marvel's all-star superhero blockbuster was shown last night (October 10) during US show Entertainment Tonight.

It shows footage of the superhero team of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), with the actors all reprising their roles from previous Marvel movies.

Mark Ruffalo will also make his debut as Hulk, replacing Edward Norton from the previous big screen outing. The Avengers is being directed by Joss Whedon, cult hero and creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Tying together story strands from all of Marvel's recent comic book outings, it is set to provide the toughest competition for Warner and DC Comics' The Dark Knight Rises.

It is understood that a full trailer will be unveiled on Apple.com later today. For now, you can watch the 30-second teaser below.
