'The Crow' to be remade by '28 Weeks Later' director

1994 gothic comic book classic is to be rebooted

The Crow is the latest cult classic film to be given the remake treatment.

Reports from Hollywood say that 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has been recruited to make a new version of the gothic 1994 classic.

Comic-book adaptation The Crow followed rock musician Eric Draven, who was resurrected as The Crow to avenge his wife’s murder.

According to Variety, producer Tucker Tooley of studio Relativity said: "Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an incredibly talented and imaginative film-maker. We are thrilled to have him at the helm and are excited to have him at the helm and are excited to work on what we all believe will be a compelling and innovative reimagining of The Crow."

Adapted from the comics by James O'Barr, The Crow became infamous after star Brandon Lee was killed on set when a dummy bullet was accidentally shot into his abdomen.
