'The Hunger Games' gets spoofed in 'The Starving Games' - watch
Parody film from the makers of 'Scary Movie' debuts new trailer
The Starving Games is the latest parody film from writer-directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, who previously gave us Scary Movie, Date Movie, Meet The Spartans and Twilight spoof Vampires Suck.
The parody includes characters called Kantmiss Evershot, Effoff and Peter Malarky whose names riff on actual Hunger Games favourites - as well as one named "Bruce Willis", which suggests the Die Hard star is also in line for a mocking. The Starving Games opens in US cinemas on November 8 but its UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the next instalment in the actual Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, is set to arrive in cinemas worldwide on November 22. It's recently been confirmed that the film will have its world premiere in London on November 11.
Jennifer Lawrence has reprised her role as heroine Katniss, joined by returning cast members Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz. New additions to the cast for Catching Fire include Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee, and Sam Claflin, whose character Finnick Odair is a potential love interest for Lawrence's Katniss.
