'The Inbetweeners' writer denies sequel rumours
Newspaper claims next film will incorporate a stag do and wedding
Iain Morris, co-writer of The Inbetweeners, has dismissed reports that a sequel to the huge hit movie is in the works. As reported by the Mirror, the sequel will supposedly follow the four friends on a stag do, as Neil (Blake Harrison) prepares to get married.
But Morris, co-creator of the hit show, has already taken to Twitter to deny the report. Answering a fan who brought the article to his attention, Morris wrote, "first I've heard of it. Maybe the mirror are writing it?"
He went on to say, “honestly, we haven't even talked about it. It's our first day in today. i've been drunk for a month”.
The Inbetweeners Movie has enjoyed monumental success over the summer, taking the honour of becoming the biggest UK comedy opening ever.
At last count, the film had pulled in astonishing figures of £35 million (September 5). The estimated budget was £3.5 million.
