The Office's David Brent returns with 'Equality Street' – watch
Ricky Gervais' 'chilled-out entertainer' returns for BBC Comic Relief
Ricky Gervais' greatest creation, The Office's David Brent, returned to UK screens last night (March 15) for a one-off sketch and music video for BBC Comic Relief.
The episode, titled The Office Revisited, saw Brent, the cringeworthy ex-general manager of Slough paper merchants Wernham-Hogg, trying to make it in the music industry, but being forced to sell cleaning products door-to-door to fund his dreams.
Now 10 years on from when The Office first aired, the one-off sketch saw Brent record a new "political reggae" single with rapper Dom Johnson. After laying down the track in the studio, the pair then make an accompanying music video – you can watch the result below.
The Office ran from 2001 to 2003 and was later made into a US version starring Steve Carell. Gervais previously told The Sun: "I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he’s been up to for the last decade and most importantly what he’s up to now. He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now."
Other highlights from last night's BBC Comic Relief included pop star Jessie J shaving her head, the return of Vicar Of Dibley and a special Red Nose Day sketch from Will Ferrell as Anchorman's Ron Burgundy.
