'The Social Network' wins National Society of Film Critics Awards
Facebook film gets push before Oscar nominations
The Social Network has claimed four awards from the National Society of Film Critics. The 2010 film, about how Facebook came to be, was named Best Picture while David Fincher was named Best Director. Writer Aaron Sorkin claimed the Best Screenplay gong.
Lead actor Jessie Eisenberg was named Best Actor for his role of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
The Social Network is considered one of the front-runners for the Oscar nominations, which are announced on January 25.
The National Society of Film Critics makes-up its membership from critics at newspapers in Los Angeles, Boston, New York and Chicago. Other winners included The King's Speech, Black Swan and Let Me Go.
