'Thor' actor Stellan Skarsgård in talks to join Disney's new 'Cinderella' movie
Cast already includes Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and 'Games Of Thrones'' Richard Madden
Stellan Skarsgård is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Disney's new live-action Cinderella movie.
He'd play the grand duke, an adviser to the king whose motives may not be entirely straightforward, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Kenneth Branagh is signed up to direct the new Cinderella movie and shooting is due to begin this autumn in London. Branagh previously directed Skarsgård in Marvel's 2011 blockbuster Thor.
Branagh's Cinderella film already boasts an impressive cast that includes Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother and Game Of Thrones' Richard Madden as the prince. Downton Abbey actress Lily James will star as Cinderella after Emma Watson turned down the part down.
Meanwhile, Skarsgård will reprise his role as Dr Erik Selvig in Thor: The Dark World, which opens in cinemas on November 8. Alan Taylor (Game Of Thrones) stepped into the director's chair after Branagh withdrew from the sequel.
