Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston in first trailer for vampire film 'Only Lovers Left Alive' - watch

The first trailer for forthcoming indie vampire movie Only Lovers Left Alive has been released. Watch it below.

Writer-director Jim Jarmusch (Broken Flowers, The Limits Of Control) has described the film as a "crypto-vampire love story". It focuses on a vampire couple who have been love for centuries but are adapting to the modern world at different paces. Whereas Tom Hiddleston's Adam is struggling with today's technology, Tilda Swinton's Eve is flourishing in the new world.

The impressive supporting cast includes John Hurt, Anton Yelchin and Mia Wasikowska as Ava, Eve's younger sister, who disrupts a previously idyllic reunion between the vampire couple. Jarmusch shot the film last summer (2012) in locations including Detroit, Tangier, Hamburg and Cologne.

Only Lovers Left Alive premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival to mostly positive reviews and will open in UK cinemas on February 21, 2014. The US release date has yet to be confirmed.
