Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have reportedly been asked to host next year's Golden Globes after impressing with their performance at this year's ceremony.
According to Deadline, 30 Rock's Fey and Parks And Recreation star Poehler agreed to host the awards bash this January (2013) as a one-off but following strong ratings and a warm critical response they have received an "informal invitation" to return from NBC, the network that shows the Globes. No official offer has been made yet, Deadline says, because the network is looking to gauge the reaction from the in-demand duo.
The Golden Globes, generally recognised as the second most prestigious of Hollywood's annual awards, were shown without a host until 2010. Ricky Gervais then acted as compere three times before Fey and Poehler took over this year.
During this year's bash at LA's Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 13, Fey and Poehler aimed memorable zingers at Gervais, James Cameron, James Franco, Bill Clinton and Taylor Swift, who had recently split from One Direction's Harry Styles. "You know what Taylor Swift, you stay away from Michael J Fox's son," Fey quipped.
Meanwhile, this year's Oscars were hosted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, who received rather less glowing reviews than Fey and Poehler, especially for his notorious comedy song 'We Saw Your Boobs'. MacFarlane has since said of returning: "No way!".
