Tina Fey to star opposite Ricky Gervais in ‘The Muppets’ sequel?

The actress is reportedly in talks with Disney

Tina Fey is reportedly in the final stages of talks with Disney to become the female lead in the sequel to The Muppets according to The Hollywood Reporter.

If confirmed the 30 Rock star will play a prison guard in a Russian gulag opposite Ricky Gervais, who was announced last month as the human lead and who Fey co-starred with in The Invention Of Lying.

The 2011 movie starred Amy Adams and Jason Segel as they helped The Muppets save their old theatre from a greedy oil tycoon. At the moment the sequel’s plot details are being kept under wraps, but it appears that The Muppets will be involved in a European-set adventure. Modern Family star Ty Burrell is also set to take a lead role as a lazy Interpol agent.
