Tom Hardy joins Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Revenant'
Shooting on Alejandro González Iñárritu title begins in September
Tom Hardy has signed on to appear alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in revenge thriller The Revenant.
The film will be directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and sees Hardy teaming up with DiCaprio for the first time since they both appeared in Inception in 2010.
The Revenant is based on Michael Punke's novel The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge and is about a 19th century fur trapper (DiCaprio) who vows to get revenge after being left for dead by his companions after a bear attack. Filming begins on September 22 with the movie scheduled for an autumn 2015 release.
Hardy is currently filming Legend, in which he plays Kray twins in Legend Reggie and Ronnie Kray. He will also be seen in BBC drama Peaky Blinders for its second season.
It was also revealed in October last year that Hardy, who is set to star in the reboot of Mad Max in 2015, has also agreed to take on the role of Elton John in the forthcoming biopic of the piano-playing icon.
