'Toy Story 3' in contention for an Oscar
Cartoon sequel one of 15 films up for Academy Award
Pixar's Toy Story 3 is one of 15 films being considered for an Oscar in 2011, in the category of Academy Award for Best Animated Film. Other films up for the award next year include DreamWorks releases Megamind, Shrek Forever After and How To Train Your Dragon. Despicable Me, featuring the voice of Steve Carell, is also in contention, reports Eonline.com.
Three films will be picked from the 15 when the 2011 Oscar nominations are announced on January 25. The winner will be announced at the ceremony on February 27.
Pixar have form in the category, winning it five times since its inception in 2001. The studio won it this year for Up.
