'Twilight: Eclipse' to be the most screened film in US history
Latest chapter has the largest American cinema release
The latest Twilight movie opens in the US today with the largest domestic American release in box office history. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was booked on screens in a record 4,416 cinemas, beating the previous record of 4,380 cinemas set less than two months ago by Iron Man 2.
The second installment in the vampire franchise, last November's The Twilight Saga: New Moon, leads the box office records for best opening day with £48.4million though it is confidently predicted that Eclipse could break the record again.
