A first-look trailer for the forthcoming Justice League movie was revealed yesterday (July 23) at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

As fans gathered to listen to a panel discussion between Justice League actors Ben Affleck (who plays Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ezra Miller (The Flash) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg), they were treated to specially compiled footage from the film by Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice director Zack Snyder.

The main focus in the clip is on Affleck's character, who is hunting down warriors with "special abilities" to fight a common enemy. One by one a new superhero is revealed, whether or not they want to join seems to be another matter…

Batman V Superman, which came out in March, has now grossed over $870 million (£595 million) at the global box office despite a generally negative response from critics. On review aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes, the film's approval rating is a lowly 27%.

Chris Rock hit out at the movie during a panel at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City with the Star Trek, Star Wars and Lost director JJ Abrams. Many people criticised the film for Snyder's poor directing abilities.

"It did catch me off guard," Snyder told Vulture in response. "I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment. I do think that the tone of Justice League has changed because of what the fans have said."

Justice League is set for release in November 2017.
