Witherspoon to star in 'Men Are From Mars...' movie

Reese Witherspoon is to star in a movie version of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.

The film, based on the 1992 relationships manual by John Gray, will be directed by Bryan Buckley.

Buckley is renowned for directing over 40 TV advertisements that have aired during the annual Super Bowl - generally the most-watched US TV broadcast of the year.

The film's script is being written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, who have penned several previous screenplays together, including the 2001 film version of Josie And The Pussycats.

Men Are From Mars, Women From Venus will begin shooting in January, reports Deadline. The book, which argues that most common relationship problems can be attributed to fundamental personality differences between the genders, has sold more than seven million copies.

Witherspoon, 36, won an Oscar for her role as June Carter-Cash in Walk The Line, the 2005 biopic of country singer Johnny Cash. She recently appeared alongside Chris Pine and Tom Hardy in action comedy This Means War.
