Wyatt Earp goes sci-fi for comic book adaptation
Sam Raimi to transform Western legend in new film
Sam Raimi is attached to direct Earp:Saints for Sinners, an adaptation of a graphic novel about the Wild West legend Wyatt Earp. The film, made for DreamWorks, will be a re-imagining of American lawman Wyatt Earp, who is best remembered for his part in the Gunfight at O.K. Corral in 1881. There, he fought outlaws alongside his two brothers and partner Doc Holliday, reports Empire.
The new film will set Earp in the future, where he will fight outlaws in the only town left standing in a ravaged society, Las Vegas.
Raimi is no stranger to comic book adaptations, having helmed the first three parts of Spiderman film franchise.
He is also directing a Wizard of Oz prequel titled Oz, the Great and Powerful for Disney.
