Zooey Deschanel in the frame for Richard Curtis sci-fi project
The 'New Girl' star is close to accepting a role in 'About Time'
Zooey Deschanel is being lined up to star in Richard Curtis' sci-fi movie About Time.
The New Girl star is apparently considering the female lead in the latest project from the Blackadder and Love Actually writer. Domhall Gleeson, who played Bill Weasley in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows is also in line for the male lead, according to Variety.
Working title are developing the low-budget About Time from Curtis' own script. Gleeson would play Tim, a young man who comes from a family of time travellers. When Tim learns of his unique gift from his father, he decides to use his powers to change the world for the better. Deschanel is in negotiations to play his love interest Mary.
Curtis has previously dabbled in science-fiction writing the Doctor Who episode Vincent And The Doctor, in which the Timelord met Van Gogh. Meanwhile Deschanel's most notable foray into the genre came when she played Trillian in the 2005 movie version of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
Gleeson will next be seen in Anna Karenina and Dredd, both of which are due for release this year.
