The Ultimate Indie Guide To Brighton

Brighton

The city affectionately known as London-On-Sea is a utopia of sub-cultures. With its famous history of mod culture, the city is lined with all kinds of vintage clothes shops, places like To Be Worn Again and Snooper’s Paradise. Meanwhile, among the club nights to resist the recent spate of venue closures are Komedia’s psychobilly all-nighter Born Bad, and of course Club NME at Coalition every Wednesday (see nme.com/clubnme). Alumni: The Kooks, Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong, The Maccabees. Pub fact: Joe Lean can often be found at The Heart And Hand, which he says has "the best jukebox in Brighton".
