The Ultimate Indie Guide To Exeter

Exeter

Yes it's tiny and bloody miles from anywhere, and no, bar Muse coming from up the road it has never produced any bands of significance. But lest we forget, Radiohead's Thom Yorke DJ'd at the Cavern Club as a student (and wrote the lyrics to 'Creep' in the toilets), and to this day there's plenty to keep indie fans entertained, not least Lofi Hifi, Exeter’s only trendy indie-lektro band and disco night, held at – where else? – The Cavern.
Alumni: Thom Yorke, Muse, The Rumble Strips.
Pub fact: McCoy's Arcade houses Manson's, the guitar shop where Muse's Matt Bellamy has his amazing custom guitars built.
