Sheffield
Not only does everyone know each other in Sheffield, they’re all mates. Regardless of genre – indie, dancehall, electro, or its indigenous brew, bassline – all the good artists, promoters, and DJs are ready to rave about all their local peers. Hence the local scene is as welcoming for newcomers such as dancehall luminary Toddla T and recent Angular signings Navvy as it is for established giants such as Arctic Monkeys.
Alumni: Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Richard Hawley, The Long Blondes
Pub fact: Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders is set to open a bar/shop complex in Sheffield named The Bowery.
