About This Release:
Hexstatic presents 'There's Been A Terrible Mix-Up'. A limited edition DVD-R of over forty mp3 mixes (available exclusively from Hexstatic's bandcamp site) + a 3 track download EP. Blood, sweat, tears and blunt needles. Spanning from around 1998/9 to the present day, encompassing many genres of music but not really following any trends. From vinyl and CD's to Ableton and Serato, these mixes have also charted the development of DJing technology over the years. Most went out on the Solid Steel radio show in some form or other. Some have changed, some renamed and some are elements of other mixes stuck together that went on to become 'Listen & Learn', 'Pick 'n' Mix' and 'Solid Reel'. These mixes conjure many memories, from endlessly crazy nights at the 333, to amazing gigs at The Big Chill, massive crowds in Tokyo to cramped rooms in London and countless places worldwide in-between. Sometimes producing or listening to a mix can restore your faith in music, be it certain tracks, or maybe you were there and heard some of the parts of these mixes played live? Whatever,..please,...;enjoy! - Robin Hexstatic The release will be accompanied by a no-holds-barred AV show of the best of dance music, old and new, from the past three decades. New AV album 'ARCADE' and video-mapped show will follow next year.
