Based in Cambridge, UK, Katie Parker & The Elements draw on many styles and influences to produce their distinctive guitar-driven songs. Fronted by the flexible and powerful voice of Katie Parker, they fuse classic riffs with modern commercial sensibilities and demands. Being unafraid to exploit new technologies to help mould and progress their sound - historically something many dyed-in-the-wool rock bands shy away from - The Elements hope to bring live music with a contemporary twist to the forefront.

Katie Parker fronts The Elements and is powerful and distinctive 25 year-old singer-song writer, drummer and violinist from Cambridge. Over the past 2 years she's been honing her style by working with various musicians to bring her ideas and songs to fruition.

Her songwriting, with its incisive and relevant lyrical content, is underpinned by her skills as a drummer, allowing Katie to draw on strong rhythmically-driven melodies. This understanding provides The Elements' music with its all-important momentum and contemporary edge. Of course, being a drummer also permits Katie the freedom to play when she's not singing which she does using a small on-stage percussion rig.

Katie's stylistic open-mindedness towards the music helps drive the band forward - preventing the kind of stagnation and fear of change that many traditional rock bands find themselves in - as Katie explores all musical avenues, be they electronic, acoustic or ethnic, in the search to find the right sound for her songs.
